MEDACTAOur Fellowship Programmes, supported by Medacta International, offer a unique opportunity tailored for surgeons aiming to deepen their expertise in specialized fields of orthopedic surgery.

Applications are open to orthopaedic specialists according to their national regulations and being under 45 years of age as well as to residents in their last year of residency, from the following countries:

HIP MULTICENTER VISITING FELLOWSHIP NOW OPEN!

The Hip Multicenter Visiting Fellowship is a six-month program designed to provide fellows with an immersive learning experience in Total Hip Replacement (THR), with a particular focus on the anterior approach and periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) surgery. Fellows will rotate through renowned centers in France and Switzerland, gaining comprehensive exposure to various surgical techniques and clinical practices.

Applications are now open for the second edition of the program, starting in September 2026. This edition will be hosted by Dr. Emmanuel Marchetti in Villeurbanne, France. Dr. Marchetti will welcome the fellow at Médipôle Lyon-Villeurbanne.

Fellowship Structure

During the fellowship, participants have the opportunity to spend one week with distinguished orthopaedic surgeons to broaden their experience and enhance their expertise:

  • Dr. med. Fabian Kalberer – Winterthur, Switzerland
  • Dr. Frédéric Laude – Paris, France
  • Prof. Dr. med. Patrick Zingg – Zurich, Switzerland

Please note that fluency in both French and English is required.

All applications will be reviewed by the EFORT FOUNDATION Evaluation Committee.

Important Notice: Applications are only valid for the current fellowship cycle. Applicants who withdraw from the program and wish to apply for future editions must submit a new application.

Grant Information: A fixed grant is provided to successful applicant. Approximately 80% of the total amount will be transferred about one month prior to the start of the fellowship, while the remaining 20% will be transferred upon completion, following the submission of a final report.
